It's my birthday today! Pretty low key apart from finding out my ARASHI tickets arrived safely. Woohoo! I nearly did the same happy dance that Gemma-dog does when she gets dinner, and that's some major happy dancing, but I was at work and pretending to be a grown up.
I bought them through Ticket Japan. I've never used their site before because I had all these ideas that it would be complicated and non-gaijin-friendly. They do have a big warning saying don't sign up unless you understand Japanese (which I guess is fair enough since it's pretty much to protect them against people saying they didn't understand Japanese so bought the wrong tickets).
Other than that, too easy.
It looks like they (the site) hold your money until you confirm you've received the tickets too - one of my other fears was sending the payment and never hearing from the seller again.
The first time I bought tickets I did it through a third-party bidder on Yahoo Auctions. Total nightmare and I had to give them a $500 deposit that I had to fight and scream and threaten legal action to get back. Six months later. Never again.
Since then, I've used the ticket shops but you can't really do that unless you are in the country and by then, if you live overseas, all the good tickets are gone. Well not really since it's Arashi and there are no bad tickets.
I'm totally using Ticket Japan for all my ticket buying needs in future.
In other exciting news, I fly out tomorrow night. Technically it's Wednesday because the flight is 12.45 but I leave my house on the 17th.
